FAQs

What's my username?

So that you don't have to try to remember yet another piece of useless information, your email address is your username. Though it's a bit longer to type, you won't have to sit there trying to remember if you were molly1332 or molly1337!

Also, you don't need to sign in until after you've ordered one of the items, so if you don't have a username/password yet, don't worry: you get to choose your password when you sign up.

When watching a presentation, the bottom part of the slides are cut off.

There is a known bug in the presentation software we use (Adobe Connect Pro), which makes the recordings not fit in the window when you first open them. Unfortunately, we have no direct influence on their development team to resolve this issue, so until they get around to it themselves, the best we can offer you is a work-around.

If you resize the window (by clicking in the bottom right and dragging it slightly), the presentation will then detect the new window size and scale itself to fit properly. Unfortunately, you'll most likely have to do this each time you watch a presentation. Sorry!

Something's wrong! What do I do?

Just let us know! On the right over there underneath the menu is a contact box. Type your message in there and we'll get back to you as soon as possible! You can also use this if you want to give some feedback, or anything else you want to say. We're always happy to hear from you.

I've downloaded a "zip" file - what now?

Files which end in ".zip" are called zip files (unsurprisingly!). A zip file is a container for other files of any sort (Word documents, Powerpoint slides, etc), which is useful because it means you only have to download one file, instead of many. The most useful thing about zip files though is that it compresses the files inside it, which means that the one zip file will be a smaller file to download.

If the file you've downloaded is a zip file and you can't open it, don't worry! There is a free utility called 7-Zip which can open and "extract" the files from inside a zip file for you. You can download it for free here: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z457.exe.

Another common program which opens zip files is called WinZip. Technically, WinZip is not free software - it does offer an "evaluation" version which will work fine, however it will most likely show you a "nag" screen asking you to buy it. If you read closely, you should be able to see a button to "continue using evaluation" or something similar. If you really like WinZip, you should buy it, but here at SummitZero, we recommend 7-Zip. :)

Can I download the presentation to watch later?

No, sorry!

What software do I need to watch presentations?

The only software you'll need is Adobe Flash Player 8 or above. This is a very common plugin which you most likely already have installed on your computer. In any case, it's easily installed - it only takes a couple of minutes - and you can download it for free here: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer.

I've finished viewing my presentation, how do I get my certificate?

Well, it depends! Some items will have a quiz which you'll have to pass first. Listed underneath each of the items you have access to should be a link to Certification. If there is a quiz, you'll see a link which reads "Take quiz". Click on that and you can begin the assessment. After you finish, the quiz will be automatically graded, and if you've passed (congratulations!), you'll see a new link which reads "Collect certificate". If the item doesn't have a quiz, then the "Collect certificate" link will be there from the start. Handy! Remember to do this before your enrolment expires though! After it expires, if you didn't complete the quiz, you won't be able to download the certificate.

The certificate is in PDF format, meaning you'll need a special reader to open and print it. If you don't have one, don't worry though, there is an excellent, free PDF reader called Foxit Reader, which you can download here: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader_2/down_reader.htm.
